Help & guides

Everything in plain language.

No jargon. Below we explain exactly how to request a transfer code, how the domain part works and the easiest way to supply material. Stuck? One email and we will do it together.

Requesting your transfer code

Want to transfer your domain name to us? Then you need a transfer code (also called an authorisation code, auth code, EPP code or transfer token). You request it from your current provider, it costs nothing and your site simply stays online during the move. Below is where to go per provider.

Just forward the code to us afterwards, we do the rest. The code is usually valid for a few weeks.
TransIP
  1. Log in at transip.nl and go to Domains.
  2. Click your domain name.
  3. In the settings look for "Transfer domain" or "Authorisation code" and request the code.
  4. The code appears on screen or in your email.
Hostnet
  1. Log in at Mijn Hostnet.
  2. Go to Domains and pick your domain name.
  3. Choose "Move" or "Request transfer code".
  4. You receive the code on screen or by email.
Mijndomein
  1. Log in at mijndomein.nl.
  2. Open the management page of your domain name.
  3. Look for "Move domain" and request the transfer code.
Strato
  1. Log in at the STRATO customer login.
  2. Go to Domain management and select your domain.
  3. Request the authorisation code (auth code) in the domain settings.
  4. The code arrives by email or appears in your overview.
One.com
  1. Log in at the One.com control panel.
  2. Go to your domain settings (Domain and DNS).
  3. Choose move/transfer and request the auth code.
Vimexx
  1. Log in at the Vimexx customer panel.
  2. Go to your domain name.
  3. Request the EPP code (transfer code); you receive it by email.
Antagonist
  1. Log in at mijn.antagonist.nl.
  2. Open your domain name in the overview.
  3. Choose "Request transfer code"; the code arrives by email.
Versio
  1. Log in at the Versio customer panel.
  2. Go to Domains and click your domain.
  3. Request the transfer token (EPP code).
Combell
  1. Log in at my.combell.com.
  2. Go to My products and pick your domain name.
  3. Request the transfer code in the domain settings.
Hostinger
  1. Log in at the Hostinger hPanel.
  2. Go to Domains and pick your domain.
  3. Turn off the transfer lock (if on) and request the EPP code.
Wix, Squarespace, Jouwweb or another website builder

That works too. Your domain is often part of your subscription there: look in your account settings for "domain" and then "transfer", and request the auth code. Important: only cancel your subscription after your new site is live with us, so there is never a gap.

Is your provider not listed?

It works the same everywhere: log in at your provider, go to your domain name and look for "move", "transfer" or "authorisation code". Stuck? Email us which provider you have and we will figure it out and send you the exact steps.

Good to know: a transfer causes no downtime. Email addresses on your domain do not move automatically; if you use email through your current provider, let us know and we will make sure it keeps working.

Keeping your own domain

Prefer to keep your domain name with your current provider? Perfectly understandable and no problem at all. Your site runs with us and you point your domain to us. That is one setting.

How it works

  1. Your site is ready with us and you approve it.
  2. We email you exactly the setting that is needed (a so-called DNS record), ready to copy.
  3. You paste that setting into your provider's domain management, or forward our email to whoever manages your domain.
  4. Within a few hours (sometimes half a day) your domain points to your new site. Done.

For this we charge a one-off 19 euros (excl. VAT) for going live and checking everything. Stuck? We will simply look at it with you.

What is what?

Three terms that keep coming up, explained in one sentence each.

Domain name

Your address on the internet, like yourbusiness.com. It is yours and stays yours, even when we manage it.

Hosting

The place where your website physically runs. With us it is always part of your support plan: fast, secure and we keep an eye on it.

DNS

The address book that points your domain name to the right place. Transfer your domain to us and we handle this entirely, so you never need to hear this word again.

Supplying your logo and photos

The better the material, the nicer your site. But we make something good without it too; these are tips, not requirements.

Your logo: preferably a vector file

A vector file (SVG, AI, EPS or a PDF from your designer) stays razor-sharp at any size. Only have a JPG or PNG? That is fine too. Tip: the designer or printer who once made your logo almost certainly still has the vector file, one email is usually enough.

Photos: how to take good ones yourself

  1. Take them during the day in daylight, without flash.
  2. Hold your phone horizontally and take the photo calmly and straight.
  3. Send the originals (no WhatsApp forwards, those get compressed). Emailing in multiple emails is fine.
  4. Think of: the storefront, the inside, your work or products, and yourself or your team if you like.

No photos of your own?

No problem. We work with a library of royalty-free images that fit your trade, and you can always have your own photos added later.

Stuck on something?

One email and we will simply do it together. That is what we are here for.
